photoblog image he's trying too hard

he's trying too hard

Also got this fellow during my walk down the portobello market. He tried too hard when posing for my shot and it ended up looking very contrived and lacking that 'M' factor (it's 'M' 'cos I'm not at the X level yet!) :)

Neways, I decided to take this shot of him while posing for another photographer. I seem to have a think for shooting subject that are NOT looking directly at me. Is this an issue? Especially in portraits?
I'm currently feeling pains in my fingers when I use my trackpad on my laptop so my PP'ing is quite limited... I could've increased the tonal range on this shot and will do (when I get myself an external mouse).

My humble opinion: It's fine without PP. Perfect as it is.

He does look very silly - was there a particular reason he was wearing this getup or was it just normal gear for a day at the market? Personally, I think a portrait doesn't always have to have the person looking at the camera.

Abisola Fatokun: I think he said he was raising funds for some Cancer-awareness charity, Ingrid. Don't quite remember anymore. You should have seen the plastic guitar he was strumming smile made him look even sillier! Thanks for dropping by.
